BSA journal Sociology is seeking applications to join the Editorial Board. The Board extends a welcome to all sociologists who would like to be part of the journal and who are able to contribute to developing and nurturing the quality of sociological articles submitted. This includes colleagues with and without academic affiliation, based in the UK and internationally, at all stages of career and from a diversity of backgrounds and traditions.
Deadline for applications: 20 January 2022 (17:00 London Time)
Sociology is the BSA’s flagship journal, publishing research on all aspects of sociology. The Editorial Board is a working board of generalist and expert reviewers. Board members are also involved in advising the Editorial team on the strategic direction of the journal. The Board meets twice a year where board members contribute to discussion about journal practice and strategy.
The journal has committed to meeting online going forward and we hope these online meetings will continue to foster the positive involvement of our Board members while facilitating wider participation.
We welcome applications from the full range of sociological topics.
Areas of expertise that are particularly in demand:
- Sociology of work (employment, labour, etc.)
- Economic sociology
- Sociological theory (both Northern and Southern)
- Families/relationships/personal life
- Inequalities/social stratification
- Quantitative methods
There are annual opportunities to join the Editorial board and this is done through an open application process. The current Board members then vote for the colleagues to join the Board for a 4-year term.
Colleagues may contact the journal for more information.
